We are excited to be counting down to the opening of the Mead Centre, a fantastic new space in Newport Pagnell, but it’s taking a little longer that we originally thought.

Following the latest progress meeting with our architects and builders it is apparent that delays to the anticipated completion date for the building are inevitable.

All builders are experiencing major difficulties with the supply of materials resulting from the current pandemic, the effects of Brexit and delays in deliveries as a result of HGV driver shortages.

There are also further delays in the provision of service connections (gas, water and electricity utilities) outwith the control of contractors, mainly due to labour fluctuations afforded by the need for operatives to self isolate.

Our latest projection is that the building will be completed and ready to hand over to us sometime towards the end of November.

It is therefore unlikely that we will be able to welcome users to the building until January 2022.

It is a matter of extreme disappointment that we cannot open as anticipated but assure you that we and our contractors are doing everything we can to foreshorten the delay and will keep you informed as matters develop.
