Rooms and Bookings

We have a number of rooms available for the community to use.

DISCOUNTED RATES

We offer discounted rates to charities and social enterprises, and if you have a bright idea, we may be able offer help to get a group or activity started

ROOMS

The Hub – A place where all are welcome to pop in and visit, there are comfy chairs, a few tables, and a reception desk. This space is not available to hire, and is open to all – pop in for a chat.

 

Main Hall – A large double height space with a hatch to large kitchen.  

Studio – A first floor room with full length windows, creating a peaceful and modern space with wonderful light.

SENSORY ROOM

Our Sensory Room is a calm, quiet and relaxing space within the Mead Centre.

 

This is a therapeutic space for all sections of the community, including children and adults with autism, dementia, or other special needs. We offer a collection of interactive objects to engage with.

 

Additional facilities include an electric hoist. An adult-sized changing table and shower are also available via a lift.

FACILITIES

The Mead Centre has a full professional kitchen downstairs, with a hatch onto the hall. 
Upstairs is a small kitchenette, next to the studio, for tea & coffee making.
There is a shower available on the first floor.
There are a number of toilets available throughout the building.
There is a bicycle rack available outside the main doors (just past the porch area)

ACTIVITIES

Activities organised by the following organisations will normally be allowed:

  • Community organisations

  • School activities

  • Childcare

  • Health and well-being activities

  • Environmental and social interest groups

  • Conferences

  • Parties

  • Arts and crafts classes

  • Youth activities and after school programmes

  • Educational activities

  • Physical exercise and recreational activities

  • Elderly services

  • Professional groups

  • Arts groups, performing and visual

 

The following activities will not be allowed:

·        Illegal activities

·        Activities with adverse impacts on the building or Centre

·        Activities that are discriminatory in nature

·        Organisations whose activities and beliefs contradict the strategic aims and values of the Mead Centre
