Volunteering at the Mead Centre

Volunteering.jpeg

The Mead Centre is managed and run by our group of amazing volunteers. Volunteers come from a range of backgrounds, ages and experiences. They are the heart of the Mead Centre, and it would be great to have you as part of the team. Why not get involved in delivering services to your community, have fun and make friends at the same time. Volunteering will give you the chance to broaden your skills and meet new people.

How can you help?

  • As a volunteer, you can choose from a range of roles. These include

  • welcoming and chatting to visitors

  • setting up the meeting rooms in preparation for activities

  • supporting our different groups

  • helping to prepare refreshments

  • helping us raise funds

  • helping with the administration of the centre, including financial administration

  • helping us with marketing, including social media.

You might even explore joining the Board of Trustees, or the Management Committee. You may have additional skills that could help us to achieve our aims and objectives. We would encourage you to visit us for a tour of the building and a chat about how you can contribute as a volunteer.

Whatever your volunteering role, you will have access to relevant training, preparation, support and guidance throughout. We will do everything we can to ensure your volunteering experience is positive, enriching and enjoyable. As a volunteer you will be treated with respect and regarded as a member of the team. You will be given tasks or responsibilities appropriate to your role as a volunteer.
